Hi there folks another build I’ve got ongoing at the moment. This is one I’ve wanted to do for a while, I was going to do the Revell version, but was warned off it, and told to go for the Hasegawa VW.
This one is a commission build for a friend down south, so I hope he likes it. No pressure then eh. Anyway I hope you all like it as well. Cheers.
The kit, I was going to build the Revell version but was warned off it due to the way the shell is built up.
The decals, I won’t be using the red and chrome’ish decals, as they don’t go with the colour scheme and look I’m going for.
The exterior colours from Steve at Zero Paints. It will also be clear coated using Zero Paints 2K Diamond Finish Clear Coat.

Now one thing I’m gonna do is lower the bus, basically as low as I can get it. I’m undecided as to what wheels to go with. The stock wheels or these Outlaws from USCP. What do you all think.
Not the best start. Maybe that’s why I got it really cheap on eBay.
Not good, hopefully the polishes will take these out.

Note the filler beneath the windscreen, there was some lovely sink marks there.
I drilled out the rivets on the roof. These will be replaced with some Masterclub resin rivets.
The roof will be done in black and will be clear coated in 2K Satin.
First up the roof panel was masked up.
Next up is something I used in my aircraft modelling days. I used a bit of pre-shading to highlight certain sections prior to the main grey coat.
I then painted the roof Tamiya XF-19
I then clear coated the roof panel used Zero Paints 2K Semi Gloss Clear Coat which gives a nice Satin Finish. I also added 10 Hobby Design 0.75mm metal rivets around the outside of the roof panel.
